First. Rejection. Ever! ^^ :D

I received my first rejection ever yesterday. And I’m happy about it! ^^ :D Weird right? When I sent out that first submission, I had no idea what kind of feedback I’d get. None. I told myself to put it in the mail and never think about it again until I received my SASE back. Now that I’ve got it back and I know it’s a rejection, I’m still a little disappointed they didn’t want it, but I know I’ve still won, because even though I’ve got to wait a little longer to be published, I still followed through and sent it in the first place. For me, that’s huge! It’s one thing to take classes that say do this, this, and this, but it’s totally different to take that step on your own and take the chance knowing you might fail. It’s scary! Now I feel like I can put that first notch in my lipstick case and strike out again. J I have...
*Experience!!!*

All thats left to do, aside from try again, is figure out what to do with my Rejection Letter! J Frame it???
Have you ever received a Rejection Letter? What did you do with yours? ^^ J

  1. Oh, definitely keep it. I've kept all of mine. Congrats on being a 'real' writer now with the stamp of the R.

You must submit again. I learned a lot from submitting. Once in awhile an editor says something that helps you improve your craft. So, it's worth it.

    1. Thank you! ^^ :D I definately plan to submit again. My rejection was a generic letter, but I can't wait to hear back from an editor. ^^ :)

  2. Congrats on your rejection, keep up the great outlook. Experience is good. I've only received one actual rejection that wasn't a "if you don't hear from us by xx consider yourself rejected." It was an email. Not sure what to do with it either. It's the R of courage, right?

    1. Thanks! ^^ I will. ^^ :) I've never heard of a time sensitive rejection like that before. Are they very common?
You could maybe print the e-mailed rejection if you want to hang onto it. :) He he. ^^ I like that: The R of Courage. It certainly is, isn't it? ^^ :)

    1. Thank you! I'm not doing too bad lately. ^^ :) I've been doing a lot of reorganizing with my time since my day job has been fluxing so much lately, but I'm working really hard to get back on track. :) It was great seeing you at the Literary Harvest tonight! ^^
